GUARDIANS OF OUR CHILDREN
OUR STORY
Like many Samoan Kiwis, Frank Hicks’ master plan was to be a rugby league legend, but life had other ideas. Due to his experience in family court, he has now turned his coaching skills to help parents navigate their way towards a co-parenting relationship [when safety issues are resolved] which he believes is achievable in far more cases than many realise. His personal experience and research have proven that co-parenting creates far better outcomes for our tamariki, and that is what is at the heart of Guardians of Our Children.
Frank's passion and drive (for co-parenting) are "beyond what would be considered normal”, according to one psychologist and another would state,
“What you’ve done is incredible. It puts you in a unique position to help others”.
So, that's what Frank has done with his life - instead of being a rugby legend [he's adamant he'll still make the Kiwis one day]- he started the charity Guardians of Our Children in 2018. Since then, he has created a team of passionate parents with lived experience and equally passionate industry professionals and community funders to drive the co-parenting movement forward.
We hope our team, vision , and research will inspire you to support the co-parenting movement too!
